Management Team

Mr.Baba Shankar – Founder, is a real estate developer of repute. He has to his credit development of Chennai’s first gated community. As a real estate promoter he has presence in several suburbs Chennai besides other parts of the state. He moved out of the corporate circuit in the late 90’s and founded the real estate business. The retirement community concept was first spoken about by Mr.Baba Shankar in the late 90’s and he has successfully built the first such community within India at Chennai.

Ms.Bhanumathi Baba Shankar – Co founder, is an architect by profession and has to her design credit several unique designs & styles. She has been the proponent of the mantra “attention to detail”. Several design elements at the Chennai retirement community bear her personal touch.

Mr.Rajesh Shankar – Co founder, is a management professional passed out of IIM Calcutta, heading the sales & Marketing function. He is also spear heading the expansion plans and new communities roll out.

Mr.Anush Shankar CA – is an independent financial consultant to the senior management, he handles internal audits. He shapes the financial policies of the company and gives a sense of direction to expanse plans.

Dr.K.Chandrasekharan PHD – is an independent advisor to the senior management.

A Qualified, bright & enthusiastic team manages the day to day functioning of the community handling the estate – HR, customer relationship – HNI, finance functions.

"When I started thinking about setting up the first world class retirement community™ in India, I asked myself, ‘What can I do to change the way the Indian society views the aging process?’ Each time I ask that question, it raises the importance of every facet of what we do.

In late 1990’s Mr.Baba Shankar rejected the traditional concept of retirement living – offered by “Old age homes” – in India. Considering the huge amount of migration of youngsters besides increasing trend of nuclear families he struck out on his own to create an exciting lifestyle for people age 55 or better. To that end, he turned a one Acre lot located in Sholinganallur, IT Highway, Chennai into a vibrant, bustling community named Clasic Kudumbam. It quickly became the most popular apartment – style retirement community option in TN, India with a long list of applicants asking for entry.

Innovations have defined Clasic as a leader in retirement living.
